During a break between Artists in the third round of Blind Auditions for Season 27 of The Voice, fellow Coach\u00a0John Legend\u00a0opened up about his strategizing to topple current champion Bubl\u00e9. Since Legend was gone last season, which was Bubl\u00e9\u2019s first, they are still getting to know each other\u2019s schemes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m trying to learn your patterns of who you like,\u201d said Legend, parsing through when Bubl\u00e9 does and doesn\u2019t turn his chair around. \u201cNo man, there will be no pattern. I just hate Christmas music,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 jokingly deadpanned.<\/p>\n

Bubl\u00e9\u2019s love of Christmas and music go together<\/h2>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s funny, but when I was 6 or 7 years old, Christmas would come around and I loved it so much, but not because of the presents but for things like Bing Crosby\u2019s\u00a0White Christmas<\/em>\u00a0album,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 told\u00a0NST<\/em>\u00a0in 2009. \u201cI just thought it was the coolest stuff in the world. By the time I hit 13, I\u2019d been experimenting a lot and listening to different things, and my grandpa really helped ignite more of a flame. All I wanted to do was to learn more and more.\u201d Thanks to the magic of technology,\u00a0Bubl\u00e9 and Crosby performed a duet\u00a0on NBC last year!<\/p>\n

In 2011, Bubl\u00e9 released his best-selling album,\u00a0Christmas<\/em>, which included covers of classic holiday songs like \u201cSanta Baby.\u201d\u00a0But one track almost didn\u2019t make the final cut.<\/p>\n

In a\u00a0behind-the-scenes studio clip, Bubl\u00e9 shared that\u00a0\u201cHolly Jolly Christmas\u201d was a product of a\u00a0little extra studio time.\u00a0\u201c\u2018[The song] wasn\u2019t even on the radar for us,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 said. \u201cWe had just finished the recording session and we found out we had about 40 minutes left of studio time \u2026\u00a0 I kept sort of throwing out [different songs] and I said, well what about [\u2018Holly Jolly Christmas\u2019]? Why don\u2019t we just try it?\u201d<\/p>\n

And thank goodness he did! The song is a hit he continues to perform today. \u201cThe feeling was so good,\u201d Bubl\u00e9 said of recording it. \u201cIt swung so hard and felt sort of rich and fun.
