Speaking to\u00a0The Times, he heaped praise on Harry, branding him\u00a0\u2018a kind human and a really hard worker\u2019 and\u00a0revealing that he forewent using a stunt double in the music video because \u2018he wanted to do it all\u2019.<\/p>\n

Explaining his inspiration, he said: \u2018My idea was to physicalise the music. He would sing a word and the melody of that word was expressed through the body. He loved it.\u2019<\/p>\n

While Ryan revealed that they only had a couple of days to rehearse for the BRITs performance, saying that Harry arrived having already learned most the routine and worked hard to get it right.<\/p>\n

\u2018He never wanted a break, he just wanted\u00a0to learn it and do the best he could. The dancers at the Brits were huffing, puffing and sweating\u2026 Harry just nailed it,\u2019 he praised.<\/p>\n

Following the viral reaction to Harry\u2019s moves, Ryan added that it showed a lot of courage for the star to continue to try new things in the spotlight, when people are so quick to criticise.<\/p>\n

He said:\u00a0\u2018Harry\u2019s incredible. It\u2019s hard to learn in the public eye; expectations are so high for them to be the best dancer, the best singer\u2026 We\u2019ve seen numerous cases of people trying things and getting slammed. But I think\u00a0he\u2019s older and more confident and grounded now.\u2019<\/p>\n

One Direction were known for focusing on vocals and stage presence rather than the slick choreographed routines that their predecessors \u2013 such as\u00a0*NSYNC, Backstreet Boys,\u00a0New Kids on the Block and Five \u2013 were known for.<\/p>\n

Admitting it was partly down to their own lack of talents, the quintent also expressed they saw the typical synchronized steps as not being genuine or organic.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Glamour magazine in 2013, the late Liam Payne said: \u2018We just kind of came out and said, \u201cWe can\u2019t dance. We\u2019re a bit lazy. We\u2019re just\u00a0normal lads\u201d.\u00a0We look stupid dancing. That\u2019s what I think.\u2019<\/p>\n
