During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Blake Shelton gave his first live performance of his new single, \u201cTexas.\u201d<\/p>\n

On November 15, Shelton dropped his latest track, \u201cTexas,\u201d marking his return after a two-year break since his last solo release.<\/p>\n

The new song comes shortly after the \u201cOl\u2019 Red\u201d singer signed with a new record label, parting ways with Warner Music Nashville after 23 years.<\/p>\n

Although Shelton hasn\u2019t dropped music of his own in a while, he has been featured in a few collaborations over the past year, including\u00a0\u201cPurple Iris\u201d\u00a0with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and\u00a0\u201cPour Me a Drink\u201d\u00a0with Post Malone.<\/p>\n

In an interview with\u00a0PEOPLE, Shelton shared that he was motivated to release a new solo song after his collaboration with\u00a0Post Malone\u00a0reached #1 on the Country Airplay charts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen that kid came along and asked me to sing on his song with him. It took off and was a big hit this summer, and it reminded me like, \u2018Hey, get off your a\u2013! This may be your last chance to really take a big swing at this thing.\u2019 So here I am.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It seems his decision to release \u201cTexas\u201d was a smart one because it\u00a0set a new personal record\u00a0for the most first-week radio adds of his career.\u00a0A total of 156 radio stations added \u201cTexas\u201d to their rotation in its debut week.<\/strong><\/p>\n
